So, for this post I’ll continuing with my occasional theme of checking out some of the above mentioned sports best dust ups and, in a very unscientific way, trying to gauge how the protagonists would measure up in a sort of giant, global contest to find the hardest sports. If memory serves correctly I believe rugby is marginally ahead of ice hockey at the moment, basketball is probably hanging around in third followed by football (soccer). Cricket is barely hanging on the coat tails at the other end.
So this post is about Gridiron and I have to say it’s been tough to source some decent videos. Why? Well i can only make some assumptions that the players are so padded-up that any type of fracas is a waste of time. Although that doesn’t seem to stop ice hockey scuffles. Perhaps when the hits are as hard as they are in this game, a mere slap round the chops is unnecessary. Anyway there are a few around so firstly we have a shorty but a goody and the plus point is the helmets are off so we know they’re both up for it:
Now this next ones a good example of the pointlessness of fighting when padded up. There’s a few quick jabs and a couple of different melees breaking out but everyone has their helmets on so it all seems a bit showy, there’s no real intent:
This one I like but I’m not sure why. Probably because it features some coaching staff and a huge tackle right on the sideline. Still all macho and no trousers though:

This last ones not bad, it shows a bit of passion if you can attack your own team mate in training but gentlemen, get the effing helmets off – it’s all meaningless unless the other chap can feel it:
Apologies NFL fans but I would say these guys enter my league table level with basketball players – just.
